URBANOWICZ, Jean Francis (nee Bogoslowski)
June 7, 1926 to December 8, 2018
Peacefully in her 93rd year, Jean passed away surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Frank, and adoring daughters Helen Biczo (Joseph) and Debbie Urbanowicz. Cherished grandma of Christopher Biczo (Nathalia Fiesco Cruz), Stephanie Duda (Robert Doyle) and Timothy Biczo. Proud great-grandma of Bryn Doyle. Loving sister to Alexander Bogoslowski (Stella), Olga Wieczorek (Walter), Michael Bogoslowski (Elaine), and Peter Bogoslowski (Claudette). Predeceased by her parents Mary and Frank Bogoslowski, sister Helen Lukie, brothers Casey Bogoslowski, Anthony Bogoslowski (Eva) and John Bogoslowski (Wynnie), and brothers-in-law Felix Urbanowicz (Bogusia), Florian Urbanowicz (Margaret) and sister-in-law Antonina Urbanowicz. Special aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Jean will be fondly remembered for her hospitality, generosity, sociability and sharp sense of humour. She was a devoted homemaker, making beautiful meals and delicious baking. She loved family get-togethers, and family meant everything to her. She liked a good game of euchre, tea and talks with her neighbours and, in her younger days, bowling. Jean loved music and made sure her daughters learned to play the piano. The family would like to extend thanks to the competent and compassionate Trauma ER Team, Hamilton General Hospital and the staff of ICU East, especially nurses Ravi and Nicole, during her brief stay. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Avenue, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, a donation to CityKidz or Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated.
