Peacefully in her 90th year at Macassa Lodge Nursing Home on Monday May 16th 2011. Beloved mother of Lynda Cater (Merv) of Burlington, Joanne Runchey (Colin Bonner) and Irene Nolan of Hamilton and Jim Nolan of Fonthill. Also survived by her grandchildren Janice, Jeff, Kevin, Christine, Denise, Lindsay, Lauren, Sarah, David and great grandchildren Spencer, Jasmine, Hunter, Jon, Jessica, Rachel, Jordan, Elijah, Addison, Cameron and Eve. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Joyce Collis and family as well as her longtime friend Judy Robertson. Irene was a hairdresser for many years and a member of The Church of the Ascension in Hamilton and The Stroke Recovery Association in Burlington. Special thanks to the staff and nurses at Macassa Lodge Nursing Home for their care and compassion. Mom was the glue that held our family together and she will be sadly missed by all. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 190 Ontario Street in Milton on Saturday May 28th 2011 at 11:30am. Donations to The Stroke Recovery Association of Burlington would be appreciated.
