Obituary for Charlie Gunnar Leitis

Leitis, Charlie Gunnar

It is with immense sadness that we said goodbye to our beloved son, Charlie. He passed away in the arms of his loving Dad, Mom, big sister, with Nanny and Poppa by his side on April 10, 2023 at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Beloved son of Ivars and Dani Leitis(nee Tuck). Bestest Lil’ Bro in the entire universe to Riley. Cherished grandson of Tim and Lisa Tuck. Treasured great grandson of Chuck and Gwen Hayes and Joan Tuck. We know his heavenly grandparents, Angela and Gunārs Leitis, his great grandfather, Ernie Tuck, and auntie, Ieva Leitis, were there to meet him. Charlie will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends. Charlie had the most amazing smile and truly lit up any room. He had a great sense of rhythm and could feel and tap out any beat. He loved anything with wheels, especially his cars! He was a gamer, just like his dad. He loved his piggy backs from his big sissy. No one could make him laugh and smile like Riley. We know he is going to have an endless supply of McNuggets and Corn Twists. A special thanks to the staff of the PICU at McMaster Children's Hospital, Carolyn, Emma, Amanda, Alissa, Katelyn, Abdul, Hailey, Erinn, and Dr. Moradi. A heartfelt thanks to our NJADS family, for the overwhelming support that they have continued to provide. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (Between Mohawk and Fennell) on Thursday April 13, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, 714 King St. W., on Friday April 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House, McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation, or the MitoCanada Foundation.
