It is with profound sadness that we share that our much loved Effie of Hamilton, Ontario passed away on January 10, 2023 at the age of 92.
Effie loved and was loved by her husband of 69 years Paul, her three daughters Linda, Debbie and Laura Lee (Larry) and her four grandchildren Nicole, Matthew, Justin and Julia.
Effie loved a bargain, a hard butterscotch candy and making “Scotland’s Best” shortbread. She was born in Wishaw, Scotland, one of ten children and those early years of love and hardship cast a long shadow over her life. Effie’s life was her family, and her legacy is one of generosity, kindness to those in need and happy memories and stories for her friends and family to share.
In lieu of flowers, Effie would want you to make a donation to a food bank or perform a random act of kindness for some “poor soul” in her name/spirit. The love we have for Effie, who is no longer here, can still make the world a kinder place.
