Obituary for Irene Louise Taylor

Taylor, Irene Louise

It is with immense sadness we announce the sudden passing of an extraordinary woman, devoted wife, phenomenal mom and loving Daughter Irene, who suddenly passed away after a brief but fierce battle with cancer on February 4th 2023 at the age of 50.

Irene will always be lovingly remembered by her husband Jeff, whom she shared 34 amazing years with, their six children Brynna, Kirra, Chelsea, Bret, Alexandria and Lacey, her Devoted parents Paul and Maureen Harper, siblings Matt (Laura) Heather ( Stan) her nieces and nephews Emily, Hannah, Moira, Max, Desmond, Tage and Kai. Also including Sierra, Ryan, Michaela, Skye, Chayton, Talyn, Dasan and Great Aunt to William and Lily who were not blood related but Irene loved and considered her nieces and nephews along with many more family and friends.

Irene faced life head on with Love and a positive attitude. She did not engage in negativity, drama or jealousy. Irene always celebrated her loved one's successes and was always there to support us in difficult times and heartbreak.

Irene loved spending time with her family, always making sure she was available to be there to share in all of her children's events. She spent endless hours at the hockey arena , baseball diamonds, dance and karate studios and every school function her children were involved in. Irene volunteered at her children's school and with the Stoney Creek Sabres girls hockey association.

Irene loved 80's rock, Dancing, Concerts, Nature, vacations, spending time at their trailer with her family and friends, karaoke and participating in the lip sync battles. She also enjoyed Starbucks chats with her girlfriends and warm summer hikes with her husband Jeff at the hermitage, their special place.
She also loved her cats with Fleury, Shadow and Lucy holding a very special place in her heart.
Although Irene was battling stage 4 cancer she showed tremendous strength. Irene had a generous heart and it was evident how many lives she touched by the constant flow of visitors that came to see her. She made all of her visitors feel at ease by making them smile or laugh, making jokes until her final days. A nurse said she had never seen 1 patient receive so many visitors in her 25 year career...

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation to be held at PX Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Avenue ( Between Mohawk & Fennell) on Saturday February 18th 2023 from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers (as Jeff can't take them home) donations can be made to The McMaster Children's Hospital or the Go Fund Me page that was started on behalf of the family
