It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patrick Joseph Brennan, who died peacefully at the age of 91 at Margaret's Place Hospice, St. Joseph's Villa, Dundas on November 4, 2021.

He is sadly missed by his wife Máire of 64 years. Also his children Máirín (John Murray), John (Helen) Eithne (Chris LaFramboise), Enda, Patrick (Lisa Schwartz), Claire (Peter Kislinsky), Helen (Adrian Sizeland), and Monica. His grandchildren Brennan, Matthew, John, Thomas, Nolan, Christopher, Issac, James, Maggie, Desmond, Lliam, and Adrian.

He is survived by his brothers Bernard (Pat), Frank (Margaret), Michaél (Marion). He was predeceased by his parents John and Christina Brennan (Lynch)and his brother Sean (Shelia)

Patrick was born in Limerick Ireland March 7, 1930, and started his teaching career in Ireland before moving to Windsor Ontario Canada in 1957, together with his wife Máire he built a loving family and a 32-year career in Catholic education. Patrick became the First Director of Education for the Hamilton Wentworth Separate School Board in 1968, a role he held for 23 years. His dedication and passion for Catholic Education was an important part of his contribution to Hamilton and the Province of Ontario.

In retirement, Patrick pursued ham radio and sailing and was involved in a number of organizations but he got the most enjoyment from his grandchildren who he loved to spend time with.

Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1919 King Street East on Monday, November 8th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 9th at 10:30 am. Burial to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Due to Covid-19, anyone wishing to attend the visiting and services must RSVP either by calling the funeral home at 905-549-9955 or on the website at www.dermodys.com Everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
