Obituary for Ronald Raymond Mollon

Mollon, Ronald Raymond

Heaven has welcomed Ronald Raymond Mollon at 86 years of age who passed away peacefully on March 3rd 2023, with his beloved wife Marian by his side. Ron had been suffering from Dementia then became ill and was hospitalized with Covid and pneumonia at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton Ontario. Ron retired after 34 years working as a technician for the Union Gas Company in Hamilton. For over 30 years Ronald led the 5th Scout Troup of Hamilton. He was affectionately known as “Skip” which continued to be his nickname until his passing day. Skip led his troop with devotion and dedication teaching them camping skills, canoeing, hiking, fishing and the ability to work together in unison with respect for one another. They learned that being together with his guidance enabled them to develop patience, compassion and a better sense of each other. Skip included his children in these adventures whenever possible. He especially enjoyed taking them to camp Nemo with the scout troop where his daughters became the cooks for all that attended. From a very young age, Skip learned and loved to play the Harmonica. He played with joy for his children and anyone else that wanted to listen. Campfires and family gatherings were places you could always count on hearing his tunes. Skip went on to become an active Band member of the YWCA Outreach Centre blessing others with his musical talents, Harmonica and the Ukulele. Skip spent his spare time in his past years canoeing, sailing, dancing and travelling together with his wife. He also enjoyed eating, especially when it came to desserts. Butter tarts and apple pie were on the favorite list. Skip will be missed by many relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father Walter William Thomas Mollon and his Mother Elizabeth Mitchell Mollon know as Bessie, also his brothers Walter Junior and Harold Mollon. Survived by his brother Harold’s wife, sister in law Claire Mollon. And sister in law Susan Martindale in B.C. He will be deeply mourned by his wife Marian of 43 years of marriage and all of his children, grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren.
