Obituary for Samuel Anthony "Tony" Rizzo

RIZZO, “TONY” Samuel Anthony
April 23, 1960 – January 11, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of Tony Rizzo suddenly on January
11th, 2023. Cherished son of his greatest champion , devoted and loving mother,
Margaret Rizzo, and predeceased by his loving father Dr. Nicholas A. Rizzo.
Tony leaves behind his treasured daughters, Sarah Johnson (Andrew), and Rebecca
Rizzo; adored grandson Alexander Johnson and soon to be born baby Johnson.
Beloved older brother to Mike (Tammy), Paul (Lisa), Catherine Sverko (Ed) and his
sister and supporter Rosanne Berdusco (Steve Sheldrick). He will be lovingly
remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their partners including Nicholas,
Daniel, Dylan, Jordyn and Alexandra Rizzo; Michael, Emily and William Berdusco; and
Katlynn and LeeAnn Sverko. Tony left with fond memories of his daughters’ mother and
wife of many years, MaryAnn Rizzo. Tony will be sadly missed by his many Aunts,
Uncles and Cousins in both the Rizzo and Simpson Families.
Tony was a proud retiree of Dofasco after more than 30 years of service, volunteered
extensively in local political elections, was an enthusiastic golfer, dart player, barbequer
and bowler and will be most remembered for his love for his girls, generous laugh,
passion for his sports teams and his famous Donald Duck impression.
The family would like to thank all involved in Tony’s care, especially Dr. K Ofosu whose
level of kindness, care and understanding was unparalleled.
