Died peacefully on January 28, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario in her 97th year. Yvonne was born March 21, 1926, in Boudreauville, Nova Scotia. She is survived by her daughter Vaughn Madden, sister Stella Theriault, sisters-in-law Magdalena Madden, Marie Madden, Jean Hicks, Denny Taylor, Christine Boudreau, many nieces and nephews and close friends Margaret and Alfred Sampson and Myrtle Richmond. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gregory Edgar Madden (1997), her parents, Clemence Landry and Numan Boudreau, siblings Jeanne, Albert, Rita, Isadore, Giselle, Thomas, Alfreda, Vincent, Numan and her husband’s siblings Daniel O’Connell, Arthur, Rose, David, Andrew, Edward, Frederick, Anne & Marie.
Yvonne left home at a young age and worked in retail for approximately 8 years before moving to Ontario to marry Greg. She volunteered for many charities over the years and made a wonderful home for her husband and daughter. She loved to dance and travel and sewed, quilted, smocked, knitted, crocheted, and read. She was a fantastic cook.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 50 Brucedale Avenue East, Hamilton, on Wednesday, February 1st at 11am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice, or St Peter’s Hospital Foundation https://hamiltonhealth.ca/memorialgiving or to Sts.
