Obituary for Teodozia Lamparski (Abramowicz)

Teodozia Lamparski (Abramowicz)
Born on the 16th April, 1927 in Baranovichi, Belarus, passed away
peacefully in the presence of her children on August 2, 2016 at St. Peter's
Hospital in Hamilton. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jerzey in 1986.
Loving mom to George [Debbie], Alexandra [Steve] and John (Lorna). Devoted
and loving Babcia to Julie, Jessica (Chris), Alexandra [Shane] and Jake.
Proud great grandmother of Elsie. Sister of Lucia and predeceased by sisters Irina and Halina. Also
predeceased by her brothers Alexander, Piotr and Romulad who, along with
father Alexander, were taken away by the "liberating" Communists in 1944
never to be seen again. Mom didn't like to talk about her experiences during the war but we do know
that, she along with her mother Marie and two surviving sisters, literally ran
away from the incoming Russian army to the safety of an Allied internment
camp in Germany after the war. Teodozia enjoyed a lengthy career at St. Joseph's Hospital. Always
concerned about her fitness, she could be seen hiking the Jolley Cut every
day on her way to and from work. Her passions were her family and her
Trillium Award winning garden. Nobody made better pierogi than Babcia.
In keeping with Teodozia's wishes a private family service and Interment
have been held. Special thanks to the amazing staff at 3 west, St. Peter's
Hospital. In lieu of flowers please donate to http://hamiltondiocese.com/offices/immigration-refugees/ or to any charity dealing with displaced people from war torn areas. Online condolences at www.dermodys.com.
