Peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, January 8, 2017, Evelyn Harris (nèe Ludgate) in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Rod Harris (1995). Loving mother of Michael, Lynn Crawford (John), Rod (Karen), Kathy Munro (Ray), Terrie Harvie (Ian), and Mark (Kimberly). Loved grandmother of Michael, Kristin, Meghan, Katie (Mike Zwolak), Heather, Richelle, Ray, Laura (Bryan Mantle), Ryan, Patricia, Lauren, and Luke, and great grandmother of Avery and Brayden. Also survived by her sisters in law Marge Noonan, Maureen Hurley, Leila (Fred) Reaume, and Grace Harris, by her brothers in law Donald (Marie) Harris and Roger Miller, and by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Isabel Campbell, Bette Fowkes, and Jean Stonehouse, by her brother Robert Ludgate, as well as many sisters and brothers in law in both Ludgate and Harris families. Evelyn was a long time parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church, Ancaster, and a former member of the Dundas Valley Curling Club. As a volunteer, she acted as the Fund Raising Chairperson for the McMaster Hospital. Later Evelyn accepted a position at the Hospital as an OPT Ward Clerk in Medical and Surgical wards, and continued till her retirement in 1996. Visitation at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 7 East Ave. S., on Tuesday, January 10, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, January 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a Prayer Vigil at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ann Catholic Church, 11 Wilson St. W. (At Fiddler’s Green Rd.) Ancaster, on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
