Uncle Harry

I would like to thank my Uncle Harry for all the wonderful childhood memories that he gave me as I was growing up. I remember many times sitting backstage or in the park watching and listening as he, my father, and all the other musicians in the band lit up the crowd with their big band swing. He was quite a showman and always a consummate professional. I gained a true understanding of his celebrity status, when during one of our trips to Canada, we visited a very busy fish and chips restaurant in Burlington. When asked for my name to go on the waitlist, I said Waller, and the woman taking names asked me if I was any relation to the famous bandleader Harry Waller. It was with great pride that I proclaimed I was his nephew, and we received immediate seating. I feel very lucky to have had those and so many other special memories. You were one of the coolest cats I have known and I know that your kindness and music will live on in the minds and hearts of all those you have touched along the way.
